VR ECG Training

In this course, trainees will explore cardiac rhythms and how the heart acts with each. Trainees will interact with an anatomically correct heart and work through three evolving scenarios in which they will care for an acutely ill patient. Trainees will have the opportunity to make assessments, including ECG interpretation, point of care decisions, and apply treatments. In between tasks, trainees will answer multiple-choice questions.

What's included:

  • 20 minutes of courseware
  • Technical support
  • Custom Tracking and User Statistics
  • User account and administration
  • Savings to other courses after your first purchase
  • Oculus Rift S
  • VR ready laptop (pre-setup and configured)
  • 30 hours of customization (logo update, procedures, localization adjustments, etc.)

This course can be administrated by a nursing instructor to enhance the curriculum. Training is available for PC via VR headset and hand controllers. Before starting the course, trainees must enter their names and email to get their results emailed at the end.

Heart Rhythms:

  • Zoom and rotate around an anatomically correct heart as it beats.
  • Change the transparency to see the electrical impulses.
  • See corresponding ECG reading, heart rate, and arterial blood pressure for each heart rhythm.
  • Heart beats synchronously with ECG reading, see how heart movements correspond with ECG outputs.
  • Open heart model with a view of muscle contractions of heartbeat.
  • It includes detailed, academically cited descriptions of thirteen heart rhythms:
    • - Sinus
    • - Sinus Bradycardia
    • - Sinus Tachycardia
    • - Premature Ventricular Complexes
    • - Atrial Flutter
    • - Idioventricular Rhythm
    • - Ventricular Tachycardia
    • - Ventricular Fibrillation
    • - Junctional Rhythm
    • - First-Degree AV Block
    • - Second-Degree AV Block Type I
    • - Second-Degree AV Block Type II
    • - Third Degree AV Block

Scenarios 1-3:

  • Overview of patient medical documents (History & Physical, Consults, Hematology, Chemistry).
  • Communicate with the patient to assess symptoms and explain the cause.
  • Check patient vitals (using arm blood pressure monitor, and oral thermometer).
  • Interpret heart rhythms by reading the following parts of ECG tracings:
    • - Atrial Rhythm
    • - Ventricular Rhythm
    • - Atrial Rate
    • - Ventricular Rate
    • - P Waves
    • - PR Interval
    • - QRS Interval
    • - QT Interval
    • - AV Conduction
    • - ST Segment
    • - T Waves
  • Choose correct medicine from doctor’s orders.
  • Administer medication.
  • Discuss possible medical interventions with the nurse.
  • Discuss possible medical interventions with the nurse.
  • Determine if the patient should be transferred to the Cardiovascular Ward.
